After watching last night episode of your film The Vietnam War, I felt emotionally raped by your idea of a half-baked film. Firstly, your film insults millions of Vietnamese people who died during the War and after the War. Secondly, your film is a communist propaganda at best and a disgrace documentary at worst. And lastly, your film or your idea of a film is what helped elected Donald Trump to the White House.
Millions of South Vietnamese died during the war protecting freedom. Millions of South Vietnamese died after the war from the hands of the communist regime and from escaping the murder communists. Your film promotes the idea of a brave North Vietnamese Army who fights to protect Vietnam from the imperialist American but it is far from the truth. Ho Chi Minh and his communism brought nothing but deaths and suffering to all Vietnamese north and south. The Tet offensive 1968 and the re-education camps are the best examples of that.
Thousands of brave men and women from America died to prevent the expansion of communism in Southeast Asia but your film interviewed two marines and one of them who afraid of killing the enemy and enjoyed doing drugs. That is not the Marines of the United States. You have the generals of the communist regime boasted how they bravely kill Americans and we lost every fight to them. You have no one from the South Vietnam army who fought and died bravely from the war to express their point of view about the War. This is not an objective documentary but a cheap propaganda for the current communist regime in Vietnam.
Lastly, your film promotes an extremist point of view to the left. Just like Donald Trump is promoting the extreme right at this moment. You did nothing but to divide the American to two extremes. This film is not an alternative point of view of the War.
I am so disappointed at PBS to allowed this film to instill to the young American minds that we invaded Vietnam. I am also very disappointed at PBS to allow this communist propaganda film to insult millions of Vietnamese people who died and suffered at the hands of the communist regime.
